Mark Evans, the blogger and former National Post reporter behind “All About Nortel,” got permission to reprint a report published by Dundee Securities’ analyst Tom Astle in the wake of Nortel (TSX:NT) filing for bankruptcy protection last week. Astle’s final thoughts on what he learned from 15 years covering Nortel are refreshing in their honesty—he even offers a mea culpa—and are good lessons for investors (and reporters). It’s also a good overview in what the heck went wrong with that company.
(By the way, I have a story about what comes next for Nortel in the current issue of Canadian Business, which begins to hit newsstands today.)
